Currie, Janine Ann
Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, January 31, 2022 in her 66th year. Cherished wife of John for 41 years. Dearly loved mother of Elizabeth, Daniel (Grace) and David (Ingrid). Beloved daughter of Edith and the late George Foden and daughter-in-law of Yvonne and the late Ed Currie. Will be sadly missed by brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Ed (Cathy), Wayne (Ann), Paul (Heidi), Scott (Lynn), Leanne and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Woodstock, Ontario. Janine studied at Brescia College earning a degree in Honors French followed by a Bachelor of Education at Althouse College. Janine spent most of her career at Catholic Central High School teaching French and Business. She was very involved in her community with Parent to Parent for Down Syndrome, Community Living London, Track 3 Skiing and St. Andrew the Apostle parish. Janine loved to swim and upon retirement in 2011, volunteered at the YMCA helping teach preschool aged children how to swim. We wish to thank the medical community for their care of Janine these last few years. Our family physician, Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Pasternak at Parkwood, Dr. Jenkins at UH and Dr. Lockhart at Henley Place. The PSWs and professionals from Para-Med that provided care in our home. The day program at McCormick Home. The staff at Henley Place, Janine’s home for the last 4 years. We will be especially grateful for the care, love and support of the Harris Park PSWs, nurses and staff. They will be forever treasured as part of our extended family. Visitors are welcome to John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. (1/2-hour increments) Prayers at 7 pm. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Andrew the Apostle, 1 Fallons Lane, on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11am. Proof of double vaccination and registration are required. Please register by e-mailing the first/last name and telephone number of those attending to donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Woodstock, Ontario at 2:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
