Masciantonio, Marcello Gabriele October 28, 1992 – December 17, 2021 With saddened and grieving hearts, we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Marcello Gabriele Masciantonio in Montreal on Friday, December 17, 2021. Missed dearly by his father Angelo and his adoring mother Anna (Gbyl) (June 2021) who is now reunited with him in Heaven. Cherished and adored big brother to Magdalena, loving boyfriend of Aneta Surmanski, and big daddy to his cat Viggo. Predeceased by his loving grandparents Erminio (2020) and Filomena (2010) Masciantonio of London, Bernard Gbyl (1993) and Danuta Gbyl (Kepinska) (2019) of Poland. Loved nephew of Sergio and Lorella Masciantonio of London and Marilena and Giuseppe Moschetta of Oakville. Tall and strong big cousin to Cristina and Evan Masciantonio and Giulia and Gabriele Moschetta. Deeply missed by Aneta’s family Krzysztof and Agnieszka Surmanski and brothers Mariusz and Michał, all of Brantford. Missed by Domenic and Asuncion D’Alessandro of Oakville who provided shelter and familial friendship during Marcello’s first year away from home, working in Toronto. Close friend to Tom Eldik of London with whom he completed the 815km Camino to Santiago de Compostela in October 2017. Also missed by his great aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada, Poland, and Italy and his many friends and coworkers in Canada, US, and Europe. Marcello attended Catholic Central High School in London and played on several sports teams as well as eagerly participated in their yearly school trips and exchanges to France, Switzerland, and Italy. Marcello went on to study at Western and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science and then furthered his studies with a Masters of Physiology and Pharmacology. He then jumped into the working world and was excited to begin at Antibody in Toronto in his chosen field of study. He had recently taken on a new role as Senior Medical Advisor for the Ontario region with bMod, headquartered in Montreal. Marcello and Aneta were inseparable since they met eight years ago in their undergrad, and went on to travel, do everything, and live happily together in Toronto. Marcello loved to travel and had made many trips across Canada and US as part of his work or just for vacation, as well as the sunny beaches in the Caribbean and trips with friends to Northern and Eastern Europe. Visitors are welcome to John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Tuesday, December 28 from 12:30 to 3:30 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm. (1/2 hour increments). Prayers at 8:30 pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a limited number of people are allowed to attend each visitation period. Please register with your first/last name, telephone number and your preferred time to donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca. A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peters Cathedral Basilica on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 10:00 am. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.

THE DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY SET OUT IN THESE TERMS OF USE SHALL APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSES, CIRCUMSTANCES OR FORM OF ACTION GIVING RISE TO THE LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY, EVEN IF SUCH LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY IS BASED UPON BREACH OF CONTRACT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, A CLAIM OF FUNDAMENTAL BREACH OR BREACH OF A FUNDAMENTAL TERM), TORT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, NEGLIGENCE OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, AND EVEN IF THE APPLICABLE FOUNDATION PARTY IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THE LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY.
Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
