I had the pleasure and honour of working with Sister Nancy throughout her tenure as a teacher with Yellowknife Catholic Schools. I am deeply saddened in learning of her passing as Nancy had a way of making the world a brighter place by virtue of her very presence among us. Her loving and compassionate nature, together with her dedication and commitment to our children, set her apart as an exceptional educator and human being. She brought her wonderful sense of humour and joyful disposition into every interaction, reminding us always of our need to spread our light and sow the seeds of hope within our children. Sister Nancy lived and loved her faith and taught us all to gain strength in God and through our love for each other. She was a fun-loving, dart-playing, dynamic nun who was an agent of positive change in YCS and throughout the North. She will be missed.
Rest in Peace, Sister Nancy, and our deepest condolences to your family and close friends.

Merrymount Family Support and Crisis Centre is so saddened to hear of the passing of Sister Nancy. She was so giving of her time and talents through serving on our Board of Directors, attending special events and advocating for continued financial support of our organization. Her heart was so big, her words so kind, her commitment to supporting those at risk so strong. Sister Nancy’s legacy of service, compassion, and advocacy will continue to be felt for years to come at Merrymount. Our thoughts are with all who were touched by her warm and generous spirit. Nancy would meet others at their level and get involved in their interests. By example, she encouraged a life long reading habit and made sure multiplication facts were memorized because these were life skills. She livened up family gatherings, cooked the best meals and loved us with her generous heart.
Love you forever Nanc - till we meet again!
