Naseem and Robert Stecker send deep condolences. We knew Teresa for almost 40 years.
Here is a poem in her memory that Robert wrote after learning of her death.
To a Scientist
She was a warrior for science, a globally connected innovator.
Juggled all the things a scientist must do:
Research, collaboration, grants,
travel.
She kept it all in play while caring for a parent
in a decline so distressing
It kept her up at night.
Still able to carve out little spaces
For music, friends, gaiety.
She kept all these ball in motion,
All in the air,
Until the diagnosis came a like a cruel sentence.
One ball drops, then another,
Until there are only balls
She didn’t know needed juggling,
Like eating, talking, breathing,
Dropping,
Bouncing,
Stopping.
