Obituary of Philomena Campbell
After a courageous nine year battle with cancer, Philomena Campbell (nee Henry) passed away in the comfort of her home in London, Ontario surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 5th 2018. She was the beloved wife of John Campbell for almost 50 years and mother to Seana (Will Wood) and Rory (Jessica Campbell). She is predeceased by both her parents (Daniel and Jemima Henry) and several of the siblings from her very large Irish family. Philomena left Ireland in 1967 traveling first to the United States and then to Canada to marry the love of her life, John the following year. Together they went exploring the world and working overseas. Their travels led them to reside in three different Canadian provinces, Saudi Arabia and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Philomena was an adoring grandmother to Aidan, Connor, Ciara, Columb and Padraig; doting on her grandchildren and serving them ice cream was one of her greatest joys. Philomena was an incredibly strong and optimistic person who enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing the piano, travelling the world or simply enjoying a cup of tea. Her optimism was infectious, her faith in God inspirational, and her love unconditional. We will all miss her greatly. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Prayers Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 777 Valetta Street, London on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the London Regional Cancer Program c/o London Health Sciences Foundation supporting Dr. Mark Vincent and Dr. Jacob Magee would be greatly appreciated.
