Beverley Wilson

Obituary of Beverley Ann Wilson

Beverly Wilson April 11, 1957- November 17, 2017 Bev has been taken to a place of peace, following a long battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. A lifelong resident of London, Ontario, Bev attended St Martin’s , Catholic Central High school and later in life, became an avid self learner. Bev was a young woman when she married and raised her three boys in the Old South area of the city. She doted on “the boys”, enjoyed caring for the family home and has been known for her exceptional organizational abilities, to make the lives of others easier. She will be remembered for the simplicity of her life and for her tremendous compassion and serving of others. We will cherish memories of Bev not forgetting to send a birthday card ever, for her hand made creations, beautiful art work, painted rocks, poetry, delicious baked goods and peanut brittle at Christmas time- always giving, no strings attached. Bev had a deep belief in God and lived a compassionate and prayerful life. Bev built intangible assets, filling her world with relationship building, service to others and spent much of her time with an eye to continually finding ways to extend kindness to others. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Peter Vriends (Trish Aarts) of London, Paul Vriends (Lisa Wanagat) of Hamilton, and Chris Vriends (Heather Vriends) of Lanark Highlands. Daughter of Frances Wilson and the late Ray Wilson. Dear sister of David Wilson (Brenda Wilson), Dennis Wilson (Gwen Wilson), Susan Wilson (deceased) and Tracy McGinnis (Andy Skuse). Survived by her grandchildren Nathan, Ryan, Quinn, Reauna, Aidan, Marisa, Sheldon, Lyzander, Phoenix, Finnlee, Solstice. Bev shared her life as well with her many nieces and nephews Maureen Wilson (Sean Wilson), Jason Wilson (Miranda Wilson), Karri Wilson (Nathan Hobson) and Godson, Benjamin McGinnis. Bev’s many special great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will stay close to her heart. The family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the staff at London Health Sciences Center, to Dr Malik and the team in the Palliative Care unit who provided exceptional care to Bev during the last days of her life. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, November 22nd from 11 o'clock until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bev are asked to consider the London Food Bank.
