VanHerk, Arnold With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Opa, Arnold VanHerk on Monday October 23 2017. Loving husband of Marilyn Johnson VanHerk and the late Theresa (Vanderburgt) VanHerk. Devoted and chereished father of Sue Rueger (Fred Staub) and Bonnie Purcell (Chad) and step children John Newell (Barb), Julie Harde (Mike)and Sonya Jamieson (Paul). Loving Opa to Jessica, Stephanie (Adam Bilyea), Jodi and Parker (Mish) and step-grandchildren Matt, Aaron, Brian, Mikhail, William and Karlin. Dear brother of Albert (Judy) (the late Jenny), John (Dora), Bernard (Barbara), Cathy VanBussel (Jim), sister Wilhelmina C.S.J., Elizabeth VanRyswyk (Joe) and brother-in-law of Donna Hinz. Pre-deceased by brother, Peter (the late Mary) and sister Theresa Bannon (the late Harold). Remembering him fondly are many nieces, nephews and friends as well as the Sister of St. Joseph where Arnold worked for 35 years. Arnold exuded a warmth and light that was unforgettable, he was truly an amazing man. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Meadow Park for taking such great care of dad. On Friday October 27th at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo St. at King St. London, visitors will be welcomed from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass celebrating Arnold's life will be held Saturday October 28th at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2452 Gideon Drive, Delaware. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Thomas St., Mt. Brydges followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in dad's name can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
