Obituary of Peter Gerrard MacDonald

MacDonald, Peter Gerrard – Sadly we announce Peter's passing on August 26, 2017, at the age of 54. Born December 28, 1962 in London, Ontario, Peter was always among friends and family, to whom he was a great source of joy, happiness and laughter, as they were to him. He is survived by his mother, Catherine MacDonald, to whom he was a dedicated and loving son. He was a devoted younger brother to Anne Marie Fitzgerald, a great friend to his brother-in-law Ted Fitzgerald and a much admired uncle to their six children, Brendan (Valerie), Erin (Dave), Sarah (Myles), Mary, Ellen and Caitlin. He was a "great" Great Uncle to Nora and Desi. He is pre-deceased by his father Philip MacDonald. He will be greatly missed by his cousins in Glengarry, especially Ann McMillan, who annually tried to talk Peter into attending the Glengarry Highland Games. He will be truly missed by his cousins in Ireland, England, Scotland and New York. Peter was a lifelong resident of London, Ontario. He attended St. Mark School, Lucas Secondary School and the University of Western Ontario. He painted houses throughout the London area for decades and made many lifelong friends through his trade. Peter was an avid reader, had an enormous catalogue of movie references in his head, and he loved to engage in stimulating conversation. He always enjoyed a good game of golf with friends.
