Obituary of James William Johnston

Johnston, James William Surrounded by his children at LHSC – University Hospital on August 4, 2017, James "Jim" Johnston passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in his 85th year. Predeceased by his wife Jean (nee Connor). He was born in Glanworth, Ontario on the family farm on December 28, 1932. Jim was an engineer at CN Rail for 33 years. He was known to be an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs – never giving up hope! His strength and guidance will be missed by his children Myra, Joseph (Jennifer) and Gerald (Jennifer). He always took joy in his grandchildren Matthew, Leaha, Jeremy and David. Jim was the 12th of 13 children. Dear brother to his surviving siblings Ilene Moir, Ignatius Johnston and Theresa Dieleman. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday, August 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Justin's Church, 855 Jalna Boulevard, on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Tuesday afternoon at 3:45pm. Donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
