Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 4, 2017
in her 85th year.  Beloved wife of Harry for 60 years and loving mom of
Peter (Louise), Joanne (Barry), Monique (Gerry).  Treasured Oma of Chris
(Nina), Ryan (Carrie), Jason, Steven, Kevin (Biliana), Mark and Joelle.
Proud "Oma ma" of Cali and Isla.  Oma is now with her dear grandson Shawn
(2009) and daughter-in-law Laurie (1996).  Predeceased by her siblings
Ank, Joanna and Jan. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends and
family in Canada and Holland. Marijke was especially fond of children and
sought to improve their health and well-being; she possessed a natural
concern for others which was evident in her empathy.  Her nurturing
extended well beyond the fences of her meticulous gardens as her caring
hand mended the hearts and souls of those who knew her.  She will be
remembered fondly for her vivaciousness and tenacity as well as her humour
and dignity.  From her native Holland to her final home in Canada, the
world is a better place for having Marijke in it.  There are no words in
any language to properly express our family's appreciation and gratitude
for this matriarch. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue
Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9
o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. George Parish, 1164
Commissioners Road West, London on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment
in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your
choice would be appreciated.
