Obituary of Robert John Evans

EVANS, Robert "Bob" Sadly, on June 2, 2017, Bob passed away following a battle with cancer. Born October 7, 1952, Bob is survived by his wife, Dianne, sons, Colin and Blair (Breanne), step children, Ryan (Nadine), Rhianna (Jason), loved by grandchildren, Neisa, Arianna, Domenic, Daya and Aubrey. Sadly missed by mum, Mille and predeceased by dad, Ollie (2001). Dearly remembered by sisters, Yvonne, Brenda (James) and Betty, as well as brother-in-law, Steve, along with many nieces and nephews. Bob was well respected within the plumbing community. Bob spent the latter part of his business career proudly at OS&B as Vice President of Sales, travelling extensively throughout North America. While there he invented the IDT35, which was his "Syniad", proudly bringing much continued sales success. Bob enjoyed many long-time friendships from high school and throughout his industry. He loved the outdoors, his fishpond, travel, antiques and the Discovery Channel. He had a passion for the arts and history - especially his buddies' Winston and Ernest. Bob and Dianne spent too short a time enjoying their newly renovated "Hottage" entertaining family and friends. He was fiercely proud of all his children, their spouses and grandchildren. Poppa, Pops, Grandpa took delight in raising the tire swing every spring and decorating the favorite sparkling outdoor Christmas tree. A heartfelt thanks to Doctor Rob and Doctor Shannon Arntfield for lifting us up and providing hours of support. Thanks to LHSC and the medical teams for walking us through this difficult journey. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
