Obituary of Samuel Elroy Stinchcombe

Stinchcombe, Sam Sam passed away peacefully at Parkwood Institute on March 14th, 2017 with his famiy by his side. Beloved husband of the late Catherine Hart Stinchcombe (nee Duncan) (2004) for 63 years. He will be sadly missed by his three sons, Terry Stinchcombe (Karen) of London, Mike Stinchcombe (Connie) of London and Jeff Stinchcombe (Brenda) of Edmonton. Much loved grandpa to Tracy Ireland (Matt), Travis Stinchcombe, Jen Hansen, Craig Stinchcombe (Lisa), Nicole Stinchcombe and Sean Stinchcombe. Grand grandpa to Justice, Raven, Cali, Brody, Brad, Eve, A.J. and Sidney. He will also be missed by his sisters Dorothy Lindsay and Joan Heatherley, sister-in-law Pauline Stinchcombe, along with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John Thomas and Leita Stinchcomb, sisters Betty, Joyce, Mary Lea, Ferol and brother Tom. Sam was a proud veteran of WW2, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy. After returning home he worked for many years with Paton Bros. Plumbing. He then went into the plumbing business himself. Before retiring, Sam was employed by various municipalities as their plumbing and building inspector. The Stinchcombe family would like to thank Dr. Hammond along with the staff of Parkwood Hospital (Veterans Unit) for their compassion and kindness they showed for Dad. At Sam's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be on Saturday morning May 6, 2017 at 11 o'clock at St. Peter's Cemetery, 806 Victoria Street, London, ON.
